Google Pixel 7
Revealing Product Features through Visual Metaphors

Studio Payne developed the global product launch campaign for Google’s Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 7, Pixel Watch, and Google Nest. Inspired by the products’ capabilities, we crafted a visual system and image series that captured the unique features and brought these technologies to life in a way that resonated with people worldwide.

The concept highlights Pixel’s key features of macro, cinematic, and night modes. Through artistic visual metaphors—macro-mode with intricate flowers, cinematic mode with butterflies and hummingbirds, and night mode with neon-lit silhouettes—we crafted a striking, conceptual narrative that positioned Google’s products against premium competitors.

This shift from aesthetic to conceptual design demanded significant stakeholder trust, management, and a bold new direction for Google.

Pre-campaign testing resulted in the best performance in Google Pixel’s history. The Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro were crowned by CEO, Sundar Pichai, as the “best-selling generation of phone”.

For the launch of Google’s first wearable, Studio Payne created a series of assets that showcased the various modes and features available on the Google Pixel Watch. The conceptual approach was to show how the watch could be used to express individuality while demonstrating its functionality for daily use. The watch landed Google as #2 in wearable tech.

With a focus on flexibility, the campaign was designed to adapt seamlessly across OOH, digital, retail, and direct-to-customer channels. World-leading photographers were selected to reflect the quality of the product and brand—speaking core themes of creativity and craft.

The visual approach extended seamlessly, with local markets utilising the framework for targeted communications.

Alongside the global Pixel campaign, Studio Payne was asked to direct key visuals for Google Nest Doorbell and Wifi Pro—the latest in Google’s world-leading smart home family.
