Osborn House
Luxury and Heritage Collide in the Heart of the Southern Highlands

A luxury hotel with a history from the 1890s, reimagined to combine whimsical design, global influences, and an imagined heritage.

With a history dating back to the 1890s, Osborn House is a luxury hotel of impeccable detail. Working with MAC architects and Linda Boronkay—the branding, interior and exterior expression blend the whimsical atmosphere of the location with eclectic design and influences from across the globe.

Osborn House differentiates itself from other destinations, locally and nationally—with an immersive brand that compliments the hotel’s vision, references its rich history, and sets it apart as a place like no other.

Unifying vision and reality, Studio Payne created an imagined history based on Linda’s inspiration and the site’s true heritage. Motifs, naming, typography, and a curated colour palette were developed to reflect the historical, imaginative, and architectural details. Through subtlety and restraint, we applied the brand throughout collateral to elevate physical experiences and create a sense of escapism.

Osborn House was met with unprecedented success—including being named in the Top 100 Best New Hotels in the World (Travel + Leisure 2023) and noted in The New York Times ‘T List’ as one of Australia’s most desirable luxury destinations.
